Hike Mount Marathon: At 3022 feet, this famous marathon route is not for the faint-hearted, but the views are well worth it! The trail head is at the west end of Jefferson St.

Visit the Seward Museum on the corner of 3rd Ave. and Jefferson St. View the 1964 Earthquake film and other historic memorabilia.

A visit to Exit Glacier in the Kenai Fjords National Park is a must - entry is free! If you don't have your own transportation, Exit Glacier Guides (situated in the railcars) runs a shuttle out to the park from the corner of Port Ave. and 4th Ave. If you don't use Exit Glacier Guides, make sure the business you use is permitted to operate in the National Park!

You can get more information about the Kenai Fjords National Park at its Visitor Center, located on 4th Ave, across the street from the Harbor Bakery and next to the south boat launch.
